Talking to Young Children About Race and Racism
Here are tips and resources to help you have a meaningful conversation with young children about race, racism, and being anti-racist.

On February 3rd 2021, NVPAC hosted a workshop through Mom's Against Racism Canada " How to Raise an Anti-Racist Child". NVPAC purchased a diverse book basket for each of our 32 school's libraries within the SD#44. The book baskets consisted of 10 curated books by BIPOC authors and were selected by the MAR Education Team.

Racism is the belief that one group of people, identified by physical characteristics of shared ancestry (such as skin colour), is superior to another group of people that look different from themselves. Racism occurs when individuals or groups are disadvantaged or mistreated based on their perceived race and/or ethnicity either through individualistic or systemic racism.
