Along with the start of the 2024-25 school year, we’re excited to share a transformation for SOGI 123, including a redesigned logo and updated SOGIeducation.org website!

SOGI 123 connects educators to proven tools and resources, supporting people of all sexual orientations and gender identities (SOGI).
SOGI 123 focuses on three key areas:
  1. Policies and procedures (e.g., a school’s code of conduct)
  2. Inclusive environments (e.g., safe spaces and welcoming language)
  3. Teaching resources (e.g., SOGI themes integrated across classroom learning)
When these three pillars of SOGI-inclusive education are implemented, students have the opportunity to flourish.
Schools have the responsibility to proactively create safe, inclusive learning environments for all students—including students who identify as Two Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or something different. Unfortunately, schools have not always been safe places for 2SLGBTQ+ youth to be out or to be themselves. While this has been changing, and while a lot of great work has occurred over many years to improve the school experience of 2SLGBTQ+ students, there remains a need to work together to help ensure that teachers, principals, vice principals, and other adults who work directly with students in schools have access to tools, resources, and supports to help make a difference.

House hippos remind us to check the facts

In today’s digital world, we all have a responsibility to make sure something's true before we share it online. The house hippos are here to give us that important reminder.
You can usually tell if a story is true or false in less than 30 seconds: check out the video showing the four easy ways to fact-check and share it with friends and family.

Break The Fake - Media Smarts

MediaSmarts has been developing digital and media literacy programs and resources for Canadian homes, schools and communities since 1996. Through our work we support adults with information and tools so they can help children and teens develop the critical thinking skills they need for interacting with the media they love.

Equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) are part of Sport for Life’s core values and align with our vision to effect positive systems change and societal impact by creating equitable opportunities for participation in quality sport and physical literacy experiences. This is also central to our mission: to create, share and mobilize knowledge to support sport, recreation, health, education, and government agencies through effective project management and quality sport and physical literacy resources, while breaking down barriers towards pursuing EDIA.

The Canadian Anti-Hate Network is an independent, nonprofit organization made up of Canada’s leading experts and researchers on hate groups and hate crimes. Our Advisory Committee includes academics like Dr. Barbara Perry, court-recognized experts on hate crimes, lawyers with decades of experience with hate groups, people who stood up to the neo-Nazi Heritage Front in the 1990s, and leaders in communities that are being targeted by hate.
We have relationships with colleagues and organizations doing similar work internationally, such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, and experts in deradicalisation.

Our mandate is to monitor, research, and counter hate groups by providing education and information on hate groups to the public, media, researchers, courts, law enforcement, and community groups.
